KADEA Tandem Vision: an AI Surround-View System That Keeps Articulated Trucks Visible Through Every Turn

The 6-channel dual-box platform eliminates the image tearing that conventional around-view systems suffer when tractor-trailers turn — and adds on-device AI that detects pedestrians in 56 milliseconds without a network connection.

ASAN, South Korea — July 31, 2026 — KADEA Co., Ltd., a South Korean developer of AI 3D surround-view monitoring (SVM) systems for commercial and heavy vehicles, today introduced Tandem Vision, an AI around-view system engineered specifically for articulated commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, heavy trucks, and buses. KADEA has entered Tandem Vision in the CES 2027 Innovation Awards program in the Vehicle Tech & Advanced Mobility category.

Large articulated vehicles carry some of the deadliest blind spots on the road. In 2024, 5,340 people died in U.S. large-truck crashes — a 30% rise over the past decade — and the U.S. FMCSA attributes roughly one-third of truck collisions to blind-spot “No-Zones,” with wide right turns the most dangerous. Conventional around-view systems are built for rigid vehicle bodies: the instant an articulated vehicle turns, their stitched image tears apart at the coupling — exactly where off-tracking collisions occur.

Tandem Vision solves this with a dual-box architecture. A “Head SVM” unit on the tractor and a “Body SVM” unit on the trailer each drive three cameras and their own processor. KADEA’s software registers the two segments independently and displays two bird’s-eye views on a single in-cab screen, so the image never has to be stitched across the moving articulation joint — and stays intact at any turn angle.

Zero-recalibration trailer swaps — calibration belongs to each fixed camera set, so a swapped trailer runs immediately (2–4 second auto-calibration only for newly built sets).
On-device Edge AI — a 1-TOPS NPU per unit detects pedestrians, two-wheelers, and vehicles in 56 milliseconds with no network connection.
Turn-signal-linked off-tracking view — CAN-bus integration automatically surfaces the right-turn danger zone at the moment blind-spot accidents peak.
46-foot (14 m) coverage with selectable 2D/3D views and vehicle transparency that removes the ground blind zone hidden by the vehicle body.
Patented zero-distortion projection — a GPU engine maps every output pixel to its exact source coordinate in real-time FHD.

Tandem Vision is built for how these vehicles actually operate, and it keeps the people beside the truck visible at the one moment that matters most.”

Tandem Vision runs on a quad-core Cortex-A55 platform with 6-channel FHD input, records to a 256 GB microSD card, operates from −25 °C to +75 °C, and has been validated in thermal-shock and humidity testing at the Korea Automotive Technology Institute (KATECH). KADEA’s technology is protected by a six-patent portfolio, including two PCT applications, and its systems have been field-validated across 32 trucks, buses, and machines. KADEA previously exhibited at CES 2025 and at BIBAN 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Tandem Vision is scheduled for commercial release in December 2026. It joins KADEA’s 4-channel Quantum Vision around-view system for standard commercial vehicles.
